ROAD TEST – 1961 MG MIDGET
The file has a will of its own. When new, the early Mk1 Midgets used the cc A-Series carried over from the Frogeye and offering 46 bhp, although this was upgraded a year after launch to cc and 56bhp. Slightly larger inch and a quarter SU carbs fitted. The car still retains its original sills and floors which are still amazingly good. Taken off the road in the car sat in the first owners garage until purchased by the second owner in Engine is a factory reconditioned 'Gold Seal' unit.
